Yogyakarta (Antaranews Jogja) - Vice Presidential candidate Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno believed that the masses of the 212 Alumni Reunion in the National Monument or Monas Square in Jakarta on Sunday, brought about economic impact.

"What we see is its economy (impact)," Sandiaga said after meeting with former chairman of Muhammadiyah Syafii Maarif at Nogotirto residential complex in Sleman District. Muhammadiyah is one of the major Muslims organization in Indonesia.

Sandi further said that based on the information from his business colleague in the field of industry that their hotel rooms are all sold out thanks to the Reunion 212 program.

"I get reports from hotel business friends, the hotel sells well," he said.

In addition, the former Deputy Governor of Jakarta also disclosed that the micro, small, and medium enterprises also benefited from the event.

"MSMEs have blessings and we hope the tourism in DKI can grow and this activity (the 212 Alumni Reunion) also produces a blessing for all, not as a political agenda," he said.

Sandi also hoped that the 212 Alumni Reunion event will not be considered as a negative activity but must be seen as a gathering arena that is able to unite the nation.

The pairs of Joko Widodo-Ma`ruf Amin and Prabowo Subianto-Sandiaga Uno will compete in the 2019 Presidential Elections in April 2019.

The 212 Alumni Reunion which was attended by about three million participants, lasted safely and peacefully in an orderly manner.
