Yogyakarta (Antaranews Jogja) - Vice President M. Jusuf Kalla will fuse the torch of the 18th Asian Games with the eternal flame of Mrapen in Grobogan, Central Java, Wednesday, Virza Reskyana Indra, 2018 Asian Games Torch Relay organizer, stated.

The torch arrived in Yogyakarta from New Delhi, India, on Tuesday morning and would be kept at the Dirgantara Museum in Yogyakarta for a night, Indra revealed here, Tuesday.

On Wednesday morning, the torch will be carried in a parade to Ratu (Queen) Boko Temple and later in the evening to the Prambanan Temple.

On Thursday, the torch relay will proceed to Jogya Monument, which is at a distance of 10 kilometers, and will pass through the Mangkubumi and Malioboro roads, Zero Kilometer Point, until the Yogyakarta Square.

Yogyakarta Mayor Haryadi Suyuti will hand over the torch to the Indonesia Asian Games 2018 Organizing Committee (INASGOC) that will head to Solo, Central Java.

The torch of the 18th Asian Games had earlier arrived at the Adi Sutjipto Air Force Base in Yogyakarta, Tuesday, at 8 a.m. local time from India aboard a Boeing 737-500 aircraft of the Indonesian Air Force.

The aircraft was guarded by five T-501 jets before landing at the Air Force base.

Susy Susanti, a legendary badminton player, emerged from the aircraft with the torch in her hand and later handed it over to Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Air Force Marshal Yuyu Sutisna.

Other VIP officials also present to welcome the arrival of the torch included Governor of Yogyakarta Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X, Chairman of INASGOC Erick Thohir, and INASGOC Secretary General Eris Herryanto.

The welcome ceremony was highlighted with a para-motor show featuring the Asian Games` rainbow flag by members of the All Indonesian Aerosport Federation, traditional dances, a parade of the Yogyakarta palace guards, and barongsai dance by the Indonesian Air Force`s officers.
