Sleman to disburse third phase of village funds

Sleman (Antaranews Jogja) - The Government of Sleman District in the Yogyakarta Special Region will disburse the third phase of village funds in mid-September to 86 villages in the local area.

"Disbursement of village funds for the third phase is scheduled for mid-September 2018," Community and Village Empowerment Office Head of the Finance Section Agung Indarto remarked here on Wednesday.

According to Indarto, the third phase of village funds amounting to up to 40 percent will be disbursed if the village government has reported the absorption of the second phase of the village funds.

"If the village government has reported the absorption of some 80 percent of the village funds in phase two, and we report it to the central government, and if there is no problem, then we will disburse the third stage in mid-September," he explained.

He noted that the village funds were earlier disbursed through three stages, in which as much as 20 percent were handed out in the first stage, 40 percent in the second stage, and 40 percent in the third stage.

"The utilization of village funds is left to the village, based on the Village Minister`s Regulation (Permendes) Number 19 of 2017. The village can use the village funds to build roads, irrigation channels, and dams, among others," he remarked.

Indarto explained that what was prioritized had been regulated in the Permendes, for the task of utilization of the funds was handed over to the village government, as long as it was in line with the ministerial regulation.

He revealed that the Inspectorate and the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency will supervise the use of village funds.

"The amount of village funds received by Sleman District in 2018 reaches more than Rp81 billion that is divided into 86 existing villages. The formulation of the distribution of one village to another is not the same," he remarked.

He stated that the formulation of village funds was measured by the number of poor people, the total population, the area, and the level of geographical difficulties.
